My wife, Rosie, and I have been doing band instrument repairs since
1985. Our shop is located 10 miles southwest of Shreveport, Louisiana. We have clients that range from amateur to pro from
all over the world, including Jr. and Sr. high schools.
I have been playing woodwinds since the 1970's and learned instrument repair in
the late 70's at Williams Music Company in Shreveport and we use this experience to ensure that every instrument we repair/restore
plays exactly as the factory intended. When we lacquer or plate an instrument, we DO NOT buff the instrument,
we only hand polish as many older instruments have been severely overbuffed already. Our goal is not to make the instrument
look like it has never been played but to restore a damaged finish and enhance the overall appearance and restore the
instrument back to better than factory playing specs. We do many repairs that most shops won't touch.
We're may not be the biggest, but we provide that good old-fashioned service that
you deserve.
The Mission of J and J Woodwinds is...
- to be a business that has a high ethical and moral standard grounded in the owner's
faith in God and the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
- to become the most respected band instrument repair service and sales
in Louisiana and beyond.
- to provide a level of quality service that becomes the standard by which all other band
instrument repair in this region is judged.
- to facilitate a reasonable turn-around time that respects the musician's need for
the instrument but DOES NOT sacrifice the quality of the service provided. Special emphasis will be placed on the immediate
need of the professional musician.
- to provide a service for locating and buying "Vintage" saxophones for clients.
- to use this business, whenever possible, to further the Kingdom of God by sharing
the "Good News" of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
